Banktrack vs Whisper Money
Banktrack was born in 2021 as what its own site calls "a financial push project" and grew into a complete finance suite. In May 2025 its blog was still pitching it as an alternative to Fintonic for personal finances. Today its site describes something else: "Tesorería y Facturación, diseñadas para PYMEs", treasury and invoicing for small businesses, with plans from €59 a month. If you were using it for your household money, this page covers what changes and how to bring every account, category and transaction with you without typing a thing.

| Dimension | Banktrack | Whisper Money |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | Small and medium businesses: its home page reads "Tesorería y Facturación, diseñadas para PYMEs" (banktrack.com, 6 October 2026). | Your personal and household finances: accounts, budgets, cash flow and net worth. |
| Price | Starter at €59/month and Advanced at €119/month, with a 7-day trial, plus a custom plan (banktrack.com/precios, 6 October 2026). | A permanent free plan and a paid plan in euros, with the rate published on the pricing page. |
| Moving your history | Its "Descargar" button, in the Transacciones module, downloads the transactions you see on screen as PDF, CSV, XLSX or JSON (docs.banktrack.com, 6 October 2026). | The full importer reads that CSV or XLSX as it comes: accounts, categories with subcategories, transactions and daily balances, in one go. |
| What you can verify | Its help centre says data is kept on Amazon Web Services servers in Europe and is not sold or passed on to third parties for commercial purposes (docs.banktrack.com, 6 October 2026). | We do not sell or share your data with third parties either, and the code is public on GitHub, so the promise can be read and not just believed. |
A business tool now, with your history inside it
Nothing here says Banktrack is a bad product. It has chosen its customer, and it is a company. Its plans are measured in connected banks, invoices per quarter and users, and they come with Verifactu-ready invoicing and, on the larger plans, treasury forecasting. That is the right shape for a small business and the wrong one for keeping track of a salary, a joint account and some savings.
If you used it for your own money, the part worth keeping is the history you built there: the accounts, the categories you refined over the years, the transfers between your own accounts that you marked so they would not count as spending. All of it fits in one file, the one Banktrack's Descargar button gives you.
Whisper Money reads that file as it comes. It knows Banktrack's columns, creates one account per bank with its balances, rebuilds your categories with their subcategories, sends your own transfers and the rows you had ignored to transfer categories, and skips anything already imported. If something looks wrong afterwards, one Undo in Settings takes the whole import back out.
What changes when you move from Banktrack to Whisper Money
- Your whole Banktrack export in one go: accounts, categories with subcategories, transactions with their notes, and daily balances.
- Banktrack's layout recognised on its own: no columns to rename and no rows to delete.
- One account per bank, with its bank and currency. A bank our list does not know is created as one of your own.
- Traspasos Propios and the rows you marked as ignored go to transfer categories, so they count as neither spending nor income.
- Import a newer export later and only the new transactions come in, thanks to Banktrack's own transaction IDs.
- One Undo in Settings removes everything an import created.
- Open while you set up your account and for 15 days after. Past that, write to us.
- PSD2 bank connections, plus Indexa Capital, Interactive Brokers, Wise, Binance, Bitpanda, Kraken and Coinbase in the same net worth.
- Category budgets, cash flow and net worth, with a permanent free plan.
- Public code on GitHub, and no data shared with third parties.
How to migrate from Banktrack to Whisper Money, step by step
Banktrack puts everything in one file, and that file is all you need. Whisper Money already knows its columns, so the move takes minutes rather than an afternoon of spreadsheets.
Download everything from Banktrack
In its Transacciones module, clear the bank and account filter, pick the widest period and click "Descargar", then choose CSV or XLSX. Its help centre explains that the download follows the filters you have on, which is why they need clearing first.
Create your Whisper Money account
The full importer is open while you set up your account and for 15 days after. During setup it is the "Coming from another app?" option on the accounts step; afterwards it lives in Settings → Import from another app. If those 15 days are over, write to us.
Upload the file as it comes
Choose Banktrack and drop the file in. Your browser reads it and recognises its headers: date, amount, concept, bank and categories are matched for you, and you can change any of them. Nothing is saved until the last step.
Check the accounts and the categories
Each value of the Banco column becomes an account, which you can create, send into one of your manual accounts or merge with another. Categories are matched to yours by name and the rest are created with their subcategories, with Traspasos Propios going to your Own account transfer category.
Import, and undo if you need to
The import runs in the background, so you can close the tab. On the paid plan, and if you consent to it, the AI categorises whatever arrived without a category. If anything looks off, Settings → Import from another app → Undo removes everything the import created.
What people already using it say
I've tried a load of apps that never quite fitted. Apps also scare me a little, because years ago I spent months entering data into one that was working nicely — I was on the paid version — and six months later it disappeared and I lost all the information, and above all the time. Yours looks very good.
Thank you for developing Whisper Money. The focus on privacy and centralizing finances is an excellent proposition.
